Fostering integrity: Navigating through Education, Research and Digitalization
About
The Conference, titled “Fostering Integrity: Navigating through Education, Research and Digitalization,” will be the flagship event during the 6th edition of the Week of Integrity in Albania, taking place from December 1-13, 2024. This initiative is crucial in addressing the need for integrity within Albania’s public institutions and society at large.
Integrity is widely recognized as the cornerstone of a thriving society, essential for building trust, accountability, and transparency—key components of a functioning democracy. As Albania confronts challenges related to corruption and good governance, prioritizing education and research becomes increasingly vital.
Education plays a pivotal role in shaping ethical standards and behaviors, fostering critical thinking skills among future leaders and public servants. By embedding principles of integrity and ethics within educational curricula, we can cultivate a new generation of public administration officials equipped to uphold high standards of conduct. Additionally, research serves as a powerful tool for identifying best practices, informing policy, and driving systemic change, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
In our digital age, the integration of technology enhances our capacity to disseminate knowledge and engage citizens actively. Digital platforms can be leveraged to promote transparency, facilitate dialogue, and empower communities to hold institutions accountable. By harnessing digital tools, we can create a more informed and responsible citizenry, fostering an environment where integrity is not just an aspiration but a shared responsibility.
